Todd Lewis knows the value of fleet management and tracking products and services. He owned seven carpet cleaning franchises; early business success was manageable. But as more employees (and more fleet vehicles) were added, Todd soon learned that the efficiency, reputation, and profitability of his business depended on his knowing where each cleaning crew was at any moment, and where they weren’t. Lost hours, wasted fuel economy, and missed customer appointments forced him to seek a solution. It was time to outfit his fleet with a brand new innovation for the time—GPS fleet tracking and monitoring.
“Putting in the GPS tracking system transformed the business, each vehicle was able to generate an extra stop or two on a daily basis once the employees were accountable for their time. That led to a $20,000 per month revenue increase. The company fuel bill went down 20 percent, and we had no accidents. The GPS tracking system made more of an impact than any product or service we launched in 15 years, “says Todd Lewis.
Lewis knew instantly, that any business that had employees driving a vehicle would have to have this technology. He seized the challenge, and in 1999, GPS North America was born. Today, GPS North America is a leading provider of comprehensive, GPS fleet management and asset tracking solutions.
The company offers a wide range of innovative solutions, including GPS fleet tracking with optional Dispatch, Navigation, Construction Equipment Tracking, Electronic Driver Logs, Trailer Tracking, as well as other products that allow its customers to locate and monitor any company asset. The GPS North America products and services lineup includes:
SMART ANTENNA FLEET TRACKING
The American-made Smart Antenna is a GPS tracking device built with high-quality, tamperproof hardware, and other unique features to help fleet operators run their businesses more efficiently and cost effectively. No larger than a credit card, the Smart Antenna’s parts and chipsets are self-contained within a small enclosure. Key features include the GPS “heartbeat,” which provides hourly updates on location, even while the ignition is turned off. And because the Smart Antenna comes in a rugged, weatherproof case, it can be mounted on any type of asset or vehicle.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT TRACKING
With our weatherproof DuraTrack enclosure, contractors can easily track heavy equipment and other construction-site assets, Key features include location tracking and the ability have engine hours alerts for maintenance scheduling without the need to track hours of operation manually. The Heavy Equipment Tracking solution also provides alerts regarding off-hours operation, theft, and other events.
TRAILER LOCATION UNIT
Our GPS Trailer Location Unit (Model TLU-300) allows fleet operators and yard managers to easily monitor the location of their trailers and shipping containers in real time using a small, simple, and highly efficient device with 24/7 worldwide coverage. Even with no or limited cellular service and in disaster areas, the TLU-300 will still operate to give customers the feedback and control they need. Simply attach the unit to a trailer or container using either high bonding adhesive, screws, or mounting brackets (for roll-off containers). Optional custom mounting brackets are also available.
GPS3
The AT-3100 GPS Asset Tracker is the perfect solution for fixed and mobile asset tracking, providing the location and motion feedback needed to obtain full asset control and to prevent theft.
CONTAINER/TRAILER/ASSET MANAGEMENT
For fixed and mobile assets, such as semitrailers, shipping containers, reefers, and heavy equipment, fleet operators can closely manage their assets online with their PC or mobile smart device. With or without a constant power source, the AT-3100 provides accurate, updated information on past and current locations, and ensures that the asset is always in the right place at the right time. The AT-3100 Trailer/Asset GPS Tracker is available in three models. The Stand-Alone Solution is for fixed and mobile asset tracking; the Power Solution is for permanent installation on trailers and other assets with intermittent power supplies; and the Portable Solution is for applications that require portability.
SIGNALTRACK PLATFORM
The driving force behind the effectiveness of its state-of-the-art monitoring hardware is the Signaltrack web and mobile application. The easy-to-use platform offers an intuitive, web-based dashboard that can be viewed and operated from any Internet-connected workstation or mobile device. This allows managers to stay informed—and in control—whether they’re in the office or on the road.
PAPERLESS FORMS
GPS North America also specializes in the development, integration, and support of Paperless Forms for handheld, mobile data collection.
